Foreign Ministry large hall aka „kilukarbisaal“

I think I have posted previously photos of the large hall of the Foreign Ministry in Tallinn. I had a little set left, so I am posting it now. Showing the infamous tin can ceiling, its soviet design and the little world put up there for the architectural biennial.

I have known Kalle for some time. We do not meet very frequently, but when we do, it is always a pleasure to see each other, so that is when we catch up the past years.  He even at some point was my gym instructor. Then he was working at the bike shop I took my bike to service. Then he finally became a model for my photography class. This is where this shot was taken. He is a great model material and a very nice person to get along.

A lovely poser who I shot some time ago, was looking home. I hope she found it and is cozy in a new sofa.

Põlva's cultural house

Small towns in Estonia are pretty interesting - they offer some genial architecture, kind people, different kind of merchandise and always some surprises. I experienced all that while my stay in Põlva this spring. I was especially carried away by the kindness of the people and a MASSIVE cultural center, which was built just when Estonia was liberated. It is truly huge and looks VERY weird, but again, very lovable. Soviet loved concrete and white bricks. Some history here!

Isn't the behind the back or over the shoulder the best place to take photos, especially during events where certain people have to be greeted by other certain people :)

Peeter Volkonski

Peeter Volkonski (born 12 September 1954 in Tallinn) is an Estonian actor, rock-musician, composer. He is a descendant of a princely Rurikid family, and an influential art figure in Estonia.

In 1990 Volkonski founded The Estonian Slave Keepers Party, a musical project.

In 2015 Volkonski was Free Party's candidate in the Tartu constituency for Estonian parliamentary election. He received 916 votes, which was not enough for a seat in the parliament.

Other than that he is one of the most eccentric celebrities in Estonia in my humble opinion. He has style and he has character. Though this photos is not revealing much, Estonians should know while just looking at the photo that the is Vürst Volkonski.

There is not so much interesting information about Ringlet yo bring out here. Just that this species can be found in Europe :) Please find more information HERE.

Forest of Hiiumaa

Forests have always so many layers, it is hard to capture with plain eye, but though the lens it all comes visible.

The beauty and the layers can make you feel dizzy, or at least this is how was captured.

Looking for a home!

I had a really nice photo shoot today at an animal clinic, while taking photos of the cats who are looking for home. Unfortunately they were the result of a careless pet-keeping, but have been taken care of now - cleaned and healed. If any of these cats appeal to you, then please do not hesitate to contact me. Let's make a world better place, one step at a time.

From a photographic point of view it was extremely hard shoot, as all these cats were taken out from their little cages just for these photos. Most of them had recovered from anesthesia and therefore were out of this world a bit, I mean who wouldn't want to after you have had such a hard life before ending to the clinic. Therefore it was really hard to attract them, usual finger snaps and shutter clicks didn't work, nor the usually loved cat toys, but the straight looks or half-looks to the camera were really needed.

I was glad that the simple afternoon daylight and a huge window helped me out once again. I mean look at the whiskers that the back and the side lighting are bringing out. Wonderful! Framing was tricky, due to lack of room and also keeping the shots clutter free, but I guess the photos turned out quite okay. Definitely a good lesson for me.

I have posted few photos of Andrei earlier, but never shared much information about him.

I have known him through his dancing for years, as he is such a talented break, hip-hop etc dancer. One year I was looking for a nice dancer to pose for my photography class, so I contacted him and asked if this would be possible to come to shoot him while he is dancing for us. He was so kind to agree and even changed his clothing I think at least three times for different acts. We got many wonderful photos and everybody were really excited. I caught him at this moment while he is about to change, which shows his fit body and a lovely chin line. I just love the left side umbrella flash on this one!
