On top of Philadelphia vol.1

When I was in Philadelphia I had a chance to visit Philadelphia City Hall. It provided a nice view of the city. This week I share photos taken from the tower.

Philadelphia vol. 1

When I was first time in the States, I was also able to explore Philadelphia. Thanks to Howard, I was able to stay there, explore the city and taste the food. He was really kind, caring and generous. Definitely the best experience I have had via Couchsurfing.

This week I will share some photos of the streets of Philadelphia.

If you have ever been to Times Square, you have sat on these red chairs. Watch out for them, when once there.

Times Square vol.5

Formerly known as Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed in 1904 after The New York Times moved its headquarters to the then newly erected Times Building, now One Times Square. It is the site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop, which began on December 31, 1907, and continues to attract over a million visitors to Times Square every year, in addition to a worldwide audience of one billion or more on various digital media platforms.

Times Square vol.3

Brightly lit at all hours by numerous billboards and advertisements as well as businesses offering 24/7 service, Times Square is sometimes referred to as "the Crossroads of the World", "the Center of the Universe", "the heart of the Great White Way",and "the heart of the world".

Times Square is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment hub, and neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It is formed by the junction of Broadway, Seventh Avenue, and 42nd Street. Together with adjacent Duffy Square, Times Square is a bowtie-shaped space five blocks long between 42nd and 47th Streets.

Times Square vol.1

One of the most exciting visits in New York was of course Times Square. This ever active and pulsating square is the come-together all what you want to see in New York - food, people, shows, theatre, any entertainment and lots of huge billboards. I honestly felt there like Alice in Wonderland. I am surprised that no evil-eye caught me while taking all these photos and just looking up all the time. There was a guy who gave me a CD and then asked money, which was new for me, as I didn't want the cd and I didn't want to give him money. But definitely, it wasn't any worse than Athens in 2018!

Second week in USA vol.1

Second week in the USA 13 years ago. I am still living the history through these photos. One can say what they want, but the air in the USA feels different :)

Had to put these two photos side by side, as they are so similar, IMHO.
