Porcupine

Porcupines are rodents with a coat of sharp spines, or quills, that defend or camouflages them from predators. They are indigenous to the Americas, southern Asia, and Africa. Porcupines are the third largest of the rodents, behind the capybara and the beaver. Porcupines are rounded, large and slow. They come in various shades of brown, grey, and the unusual white. Porcupines' spiny protection resembles that of the unrelated erinaceomorph hedgehogs and monotreme echidnas.

The common porcupine is an herbivore. It eats leaves, herbs, twigs and green plants like skunk cabbage and clover and in the winter it may eat bark. It often climbs trees to find food. It is mostly nocturnal, but will sometimes forage for food in the day. (wikipedia.org)

In other words - titu.

General Motors

I really think that GM in Detroit doesn't need much publicity, as we all know GM as a gigantic automaker, and we all know what happened in 2008, when it all broke down and they made a movie: The Last Truck: Closing of a GM Plant, but what is going on at GM now in a more or less abandoned Detroit?

So an update from Wikipedia:
On February 24, 2011, General Motors reported its first full-year profit since 2004. The automaker suffered $103.7 billion in losses from 2005 through 2009. It avoids paying taxes on the $4.7 billion it earned in 2010, and on future profits for years to come, because of a favorable government ruling in 2010 on previous losses. The Wall Street Journal estimated the tax break, including credits for costs related to pensions and other expenses, can be worth as much as $45 billion over the next 20 years.

Critique doesn't feel good, but if it is right and comes from a right person, then it is worth taking it, as it will take you ahead.

Motel Paradise in Tallinn

Remember this post about "Motel Paradise" in Tartu. I promised to show the inner design of the shop which was located in Tallinn, in Estonian capital. So here you can see the main store. Though the store in Tartu and the one in Tallinn, both are closed, there is a new store, which is still spreading the crazy style. Check this out.

Life behind the fences

It is happening and the snow is not happening. Not anymore. I think I am going to speak for many times about the snow, sorry, but the amount which came down this season, is just overwhelming. It was wonder of a nature. Though by now it has melted away, the memories are still vivid on many photographs I took.

Many dogs are still LOOKING HOME. Estonians, go and get yourself a lovely friend.

Greenland

Imagine that you do not have to pay that much to get to see Greenland, though it is far from stepping on the ice and snow wonder, but it is still something.
Thanks for photography :)

Tallinn Fashion Week 2011

This one is to Carrie.

I haven't been to many fashion shows lately and in TFW I really wasn't taking photos for anybody. So I didn't think I got something at all, but now it seems these few shots I took work together just perfectly.

Children

I had quite a few photos of children in my photo folder and suitable as it is for Sunday, here is a series of photographs taken since the beginning of 2009.
I have another series of much younger children, whose faces actually look like they are already grown-ups, but this comes sometimes later.

Estonian deer

When in America I saw many deers and even managed to take photos of them quite close without them running away. In Estonia it is even hard to see one. Once on my way to Tallinn by early morning bus in the end of February, I noticed one just next to the highway. I had camera with 50 mm fix lens close to me and I managed to take just this one shot. Though the deer is VERY SMALL and you HAVE TO SEARCH where it is located, yet it feels like the animal is looking directly to my lens. Cool.

The snow is history now.

Haven't been to US lately,

but thought to share these photos to show moments/things/people who/which are not so average to Estonians and lots of people may think that these portrayed here are wrong.
