Meeting Fred Jüssi
Sunday series is introducing famous or not so famous men.
Around this time it is a year when I met the honorable Fred Jüssi. I have never saw or heard him talking before, and after the first meeting, so far the only one, I was literally blown away. It took me to read through all his books and explore about Estonian nature. Looks like I have seen NOTHING and experienced NOTHING and Estonia is so tiny anyway :O
Thanks for the inspiration, Fred.
I didn't have my own camera with me, hence the quality of these, but these shots are still precious to me.

A house
19.10.2009 North Carolina
There are plenty of such houses in the middle of nowhere in North Carolina. So much space and green. I really liked that state. It is still warm, in the evening you can hear crickets and it indeed feels like summer.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame
17.10.2009 Philadelphia, PA
This is Springfield, Massachuusets, which I didn't know at that time when snapping that photo through the window of our car on our way to Vermont. I am glad I took it at the right moment to realize that this is a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

West-Philadelphia
13.10.2009 Philadelphia, PA
When I look at that photo I get this feeling that is impossible to describe, as you know which happens to the best feelings life can let you experience. Therefore I really can't describe it, hopefully the photo does that to you.

Once chaotic, but very interesting household of four different students. Imagine yourself peeing and Abe is looking at you while doing it!

At the photo shoot
11.10.2009 Philadelphia, PA
When in Philadelphia I wanted to meet a photographer and see them at work. I was able to make such an agreement with a kind guy. He had an assignment to take photos of two models while enjoying the morning with coffee and newspapers. The set was an amazing old studio where I learned a lot about photography and how to work on a set.
Thank you.

Howard
9.10.2009 Philadelphia, PA
This is a wonderful Howard. A marine. An artist. A motorcyclist. A husband. A father. A man with many skills and many sides. An awfully generous and kind person who showed me the best of Philadelphia, took me to places, fed me and shared information what made me love that city and most of all gave me a place to stay and opened his heart for me. I can't find enough words to thank him for his generosity. Philadelphia wouldn't be the same place without him.
And yes, I was able to bike around with that motorcycle! :)

Liberty Bell
8.10.2009 Philadelphia, PA
I am sure many people are familiar with The Liberty Bell of the USA located in Philadelphia, PA. It is an iconic symbol of American independence. It was cast with the lettering: "Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof." The crack on the bell is very visible and it originally cracked when first rung after arrival in Philadelphia. The bell was rung to mark the reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8th, 1776, but not on July 4th the same year.
These photos here as you can see are not of the bell, but the bathroom of the same facility where the bell is located. This is definitely on the of the most visited sights in Philadelphia and you can see that quite well on the bathroom photos.

Everything will look different from high above or from the low angle.
Black and white and red.
Together alone.

Philadelphia is an art venue. It has so many wonderful public-space art pieces. Your eye will be catch the easiest by the amazing huge and colorful murals. They are portraying often social struggles, different fields of life and tributes to famous and creative people. Here is one for Billie Holiday and the jazz scene. Looks great, uh?

Rock of Salakuulaja
Google Taevaskoja and you will find out more about this mysterious place in Southern Estonia. A place definitely to visit when at this neck of the woods. This rock has a special name such as a Rock of Spy or of someone who is secretly listening whatever you are saying. As I said, mysterious ;)
