Calm vol. 1

Here is the first photo of the new Wednesday series. It is called calm. Hope you like it and hopefully stillness will get a better meaning from now on through various objects and environments.

Like Empire State Building

There is a lovely and unique building standing in Riga, capital of Latvia, which has always reminded me Empire State Building in New York City. Luckily I was able to snap a nice shot of it from the bus window, when rolling in to the city.

Brave sparrow

I had an assignment to take photos of new red buses, which server people of Tartu. When I was going through of what I had shot already, I came across a photo where I saw a sparrow flying very low in front of the buses. I thought that this is pretty neat so see something so little in a huge frame.

City light Wednesdays vol. 39

I am thinking of ending this series of City light Wednesday's and to replace it with any other series. I have few more to share of wintry Toronto and I guess then it is done. 

If anybody has any requests what they would love to see on Wednesday, would be nice to hear from you. Portraits? Plants? Things?...mmm..I think things would actually suit the best ;)

Riga down-town

Though I have been many times to Riga, I have really not posted many photos of this Baltic jewel. They have some interesting architecture there as well, as Riga Old Town is pretty famous, too.

Here is a sample of the inner yard, taken from down-town hotel window.

Taken at a multicultural parade held in Reykjavik in Iceland. It was interesting to see that so many people from warm countries, especially south from equator have chosen for their new home this tiny cold Nordic country.

I was cycling to down-town Reykjavik and noticed this group painting, since I had my camera around my neck, I snapped away. Therefore the composition is not the greatest and it is tilted, but fun shot to share anyway.

Not much of a city here, but just one tall building. Tigutorn in Tartu, Estonia.

Reykjavik down-town

If you haven't been to Iceland and visiting its capital, then here is a little sneak preview for you. Down-town of Reykjavik looks exactly as flat as you can see - no skyscrapers or other high business towers, lots of trees and colourful buildings.

This is not quite the east side, but the photo has taken from the east side and showing the part of skyscrapers which  are located on the east side of the down-town of Toronto. Morning light, feels good to be alive to experience moments like that.
