Palace

On my usual Tuesday post there is no building or a room, but in a way a building in completely another form. I would even call this a palace. This was a left-over cabinet which I worked up on my own with the inspiration by Hans and help from Carolyn i.e. Bon Eco. Hans gave me the original idea of making it by Kente cloth. So there started my little research on this subject and I tried to make this night stand like a powerful and glorious palace. It is up to you if I managed.

Ford City

Ford City was a community in the Canadian province of Ontario, located within the municipal boundaries of Windsor. The community was founded by the Ford Motor Company in the early 1900s as a separate company town where Ford had a big plant at the corner of Riverside Drive and Drouillard Road, which at one point employed 14,000 people.

The boundaries east to west were Pillette Ave to Walker Road, and the north and south boundaries were Riverside Drive to Grand Marais Boulevard. Ford City's downtown main street was Drouillard Ave. The last remaining building of Ford is the engine plant. In 1935, Ford City merged with the City of Windsor, along with the towns of Sandwich and Walkerville.

The area is also famous for the historic 99 day 1945 Ford Strike during which the workers fought to be unionized, and set up a blockade around the plant. The Rand Formula was created at the end of the strike where workers would have to pay union dues for having a union in their workplaces, which set the standard for all unions in Canada. Ford left Windsor for Oakville in 1953, closing the Riverside Dr. plant and leaving thousands unemployed as only the casting and engine plants remained. (Source: wikipedia.org)

Karina

That is an old picture. Unfortunately. As it made me to realize what has happened with nudes, as they seem to be off the market. Well, the good news is, I am here, ready to shoot and we can make it happen.

Cat in the box

This is not just a random shot or a weird one, this comes with a real story. At first check out the eyes of the cat! Wow. There was a house-concert going on with three girls participating as musicians who came all the way from Manitoba to give few concerts in Ontario. The cat was at home and found a cozy place to lie down no matter to the quite loud music happening in the room...

Sky is the limit

I have never seen such a breath-taking, exhilarating and warm sky as that nice May afternoon in the countryside. I have not added any color or modified it, just made the second shot slightly lighter, so it would be able to see some of the houses, as well.

After Christmas

As pretty as summer is and as wanted it is, so is the Christmas with its beauty, though at this moment, I would love more heat, so it would be possible to walk bare feet and swim in the sea...

Hide

Looks like Jay-Z & Kanye West collabo CD cover, right? You can find something like that in the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. Well, maybe you have been there, but you didn't notice it, so it is worth in your next visit there to go and check it out.

Red-winged Blackbird

The Red-winged Blackbird breeds from Alaska and Newfoundland south to Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, and Guatemala, with isolated populations in western El Salvador, northwestern Honduras, and northwestern Costa Rica. It may winter as far north as Pennsylvania and British Columbia, but northern populations are generally migratory, moving south to Mexico and the southern United States. Claims have been made that it is the most abundant and best studied bird in North America. The Red-winged Blackbird is sexually dimorphic; the male is all black with a red shoulder and yellow wing bar, while the female is a nondescript dark brown. Seeds and insects make up the bulk of the Red-winged Blackbird's diet. (Source: wikipedia.org)

401

King's Highway 401, also known by its official name as the Macdonald–Cartier Freeway and colloquially as the four-oh-one, is a 400-series highway in the Canadian province of Ontario stretching 817.9 kilometers from Windsor to the Quebec border. The segment of Highway 401 passing through Toronto is the busiest highway in North America, and one of the widest and busiest in the world. Together with Quebec Autoroute 20, it forms the transportation backbone of the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor, along which over half of Canada's population resides. The entire route is maintained by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) and patrolled by the Ontario Provincial Police. The posted speed limit is 100 km/h throughout its length.
