but for me this is smaller version of Times Square really.

I did some crazy editing with this photo, wanted a black sky. Looks interesting, IMHO.

Inxu's adventures in Canada vol.1

Inxu has enjoyed her time in Canada. It has been all smooth and not so adventurous until this one morning when she had been knocked out to the floor. Poor doggie. Another knock out has taken place this week, so one day, more to come.

O miss C

Yesterday I met a wonderful person who in February 2006 found herself somehow on my blog and left a comment. I checked her blog and boom! it was on, our virtual connection! Can't imagine it has been five years that we have spent on checking each other work. I am also happy that she is a true admirer of her work and I am admirer of her struggles, artistic side, baking and crazy photos. She is the same in real life, as on her photos - crazy :) but sweet and kind crazy.
Hopefully we are going to work on a little photo project soon, which I hope to share with you.

Royal Ontario Museum is inside of the the coolest crystal's ever seen. Well, this is how the new entrance opened in 2007. It was designed by a Polish-Jewish descent Daniel Libeskind, who is American, but born in Lodź in Poland. You can just lose yourself while being in front of the house, all that glass and all reflections - just wild! The massive doors are quite cool, too. What is inside, I mean in the exposition rooms, have not been discovered yet.

I had a really enjoyable rideshare with a wonderful person with whom we seemed to be at the same level. At some point on our conversation we talked about baking and what kind of cakes are the best. She said that her favorite is the lime cake and guess what, I was thinking of the same thing! Anyway while going through my photographs, I came across these two, which made my mouth watering and think of a lime pie. Isn't spring just one huge lime pie?

Motor City District in Windsor, ON

It is getting closer to Detroit. It is almost like Detroit, just a across the water. Lifestyles are almost same between Windsor and Detroit, as both cities were blooming motor cities with lots of workers in automobile industry. Then it got bad and then even worse. But it has started to get better, at least this is what numbers say. It is not very hard to find a place to live, but it is hard to find money to support yourself. People are poor, but kind, some even have smile or two to share. Hope dies last.

That is Mary on the left as well, made by her loving daughter. Of course it makes one happy.

Green frog

Whether he liked attention or he was so bold, that was the bravest frog I have ever seen. For getting that shot I had to go really close to him, as there was approximately 5 cm between the lens and its face. Even after hearing the shutter clicks and me standing up, he stayed there. Sometimes nature is really surprising.

I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner together with him, so I know I can't go on characterizing the food, as it is just too much mouthwatering. But what can I see that organic, local and fresh is the key to a wonderful dish.

Urban changes

In two months a lot may happen, even if the changes may appear very small for somebody, but at the same time they mean a lot to others.
There are no more gas booths in Olco. Now there is only a reminder concrete base where units used to stand. No more gas, no more money for the little town businessman. Sad.
There is also no more of a patriotic fall, pretty red and white. Now there is gravel path which takes you behind the house. They say there would be a playground. Maybe in two months there are more changes to witness.

It is very interesting to learn about new animals/birds and plants in Canada, as sometimes the country sort of gets the honour of specific species, like American Red Squirrel was first catalogued in Canada, 1771. It looks like Eurasian Red Squirrel, though if there is time and possibility to investigate those, they actually are quite different from each other.

You can read more here about Chickarees, as this is another way to call those furry cute creatures. Oh and if you could only hear the sound they are making.

CN Tower

CN Tower is 553.33 meters tall and it was completed in 1976. It is the icon of Toronto's skyline and a symbol of Canada, attracting more than two million international visitors annually. So if you are a tourist in Canada, then you are most likely to go up Canada's National Tower to have your Canadian experience. Many locals even haven't been there, as the ticket of $ 23 is quite expensive, so they go when there is an open-house and the ticket cost has been lowered.

Its name "CN" originally referred to Canadian National, the railway company that built the tower.

In 1995, the CN Tower was declared one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. It also belongs to the World Federation of Great Towers, where it holds second-place ranking.
